Tux got into some wet paint today, and we have now re-named him Spot. Here he is showing off a spot on his rear, his right front elbow, and a stripe on his right ear.
"This is embarrassing! Stop taking my picture!"
"No really, I'll show you my new spots, but please stop taking my picture."
There used to be an air conditioning unit under this window, but my dad took it out and rebuilt the wall before installing the new window. Plans for this room include running HVAC ducts to provide central heat and air!
I ordered 5 of these giant windows after much research to find the best price. One broke upon arrival and we are waiting for the replacement parts to come. We installed the other 4 and were surprised at how well it went - we were worried about installing windows this big! After opening and closing them a few times, 2 of them stopped opening and closing. So now we are waiting for the repairman as well as the replacement parts!
The left side of the white wall used to be a doorway, and the rest of the wall and the opening used to be a pass through/bar.
The white part also used to be a door to the kitchen. Because you know, people need 2 doorways adjacent to each other into the kitchen. Well, it turns out they don't, so the kitchen designer suggested framing them in, in favor of more wall space for cabinets.
When I bought my house, the hallway was covered in a filthy grime. After a lot of chlorox and primer, I finally painted it today. The color is Filmy Green, and it looks darker in person.
My dad took the sink and toilet out of the Jack and Jill bathroom so that the tile guy can put in the floor tile. Doing so revealed this problem on the tile:
I bought this shelving unit to use as a room divider in my long front room at Habitat ReStore. Unfortunately, it suffered a small mishap while loading it into my dad's trailer...and one of the shelves became detached.
My dad posing proudly after a "new" shelving unit had been safely loaded and strapped down in the trailer.
It might look redneck, but it made it safely to my house after a treacherous trek on I-20, I-75/85, and GA 400 during Good Friday/Beginning of Spring Break/Friday afternoon rush hour.
I recently moved back to Atlanta, started a new job, and bought my first house! I am excited about being closer to my family, learning to be a pediatric ER nurse, and making this house my home!
