Blessed Beyond Measure!

Today the wonderful girls in my small group from church came to work on my house!

Jackie, Ashley, and Christen are hard at work priming all of the trim and baseboards for the whole house!

Trying to find room for all of this lumber!

Tanja, Christie, and Tiffany are busy painting the fence!

In the future, this will be a great covered patio area!

The busted out, boarded up sliding glass door has been replaced by energy efficient French doors!

There's just one board remaining because I haven't bought locks yet : )

Happy Mother's Day!

Nothing says "Happy Mother's Day" like having your mom clean and paint cabinets, especially if said cabinets had roach poop on them....

But she did a fantastic job! These cabinets were in the kitchenette, and I plan to hang them over the washer and dryer in the new laundry room.

Lazy Days of Summer

The new roof overhang is complete, and one thing's for sure.

Our lazy 4 legged friends think it's a perfect place to hang out!

Spot

Tux got into some wet paint today, and we have now re-named him Spot. Here he is showing off a spot on his rear, his right front elbow, and a stripe on his right ear.

More Framing

The framing of the new roof section is coming along on the outside. Messy looking, but coming along.

The framing inside is really cool looking though, and you can start to visualize the rooms.

Mulched!

There once stood this old tree.

It was chopped down and the smaller limbs made up this giant brush pile.

After a weekend of chipping, this is all that's left of the limbs.

Plus this mulch pile!

Now to just get rid of the pesky root system. These roots are huge!!

More Sheetrock

There used to be an air conditioning unit under this window, but my dad took it out and rebuilt the wall before installing the new window. Plans for this room include running HVAC ducts to provide central heat and air!

Appliances...4th Time's the Charm

After 4 separate delivery attempts, I finally have all 4 of the correct appliances that I ordered!

Big Windows with Big Problems

I ordered 5 of these giant windows after much research to find the best price. One broke upon arrival and we are waiting for the replacement parts to come. We installed the other 4 and were surprised at how well it went - we were worried about installing windows this big! After opening and closing them a few times, 2 of them stopped opening and closing. So now we are waiting for the repairman as well as the replacement parts!

New Walls

The left side of the white wall used to be a doorway, and the rest of the wall and the opening used to be a pass through/bar.

The white part also used to be a door to the kitchen. Because you know, people need 2 doorways adjacent to each other into the kitchen. Well, it turns out they don't, so the kitchen designer suggested framing them in, in favor of more wall space for cabinets.

Roof In Progress

This is the last section of roof that needs to be re-framed and roofed!

Bathroom Tile

I had cut out all of the old grout in this tub/shower, but the tile guy put in the nice, new, clean grout!

He also put in new floor tile
